Healthcare contractor for imaging rooms in Saudi Arabia

Engineering Grouping Co. (EGC) is a specialty healthcare contractor. We build the rooms where clinical rules shape the construction, starting with the most demanding: MRI, CT, PET-CT and X-ray suites.

Healthcare contractor for imaging rooms in Saudi Arabia

What a healthcare contractor does

A healthcare contractor builds and fits out the spaces where patients are diagnosed and treated. What separates it from general construction is the rule set: infection control, radiation and magnetic protection, medical gases, and the installation requirements of the equipment itself.

EGC is a specialty contractor. We usually work alongside a hospital’s main contractor and take responsibility for the rooms that need specialist skills, delivering them ready for the equipment manufacturer to install.

Rooms we prepare

MRI suites

RF and magnetic shielding, RF door and window, waveguides and quench-pipe routing.

CT rooms

Lead-lined walls, shielded door and viewing window.

PET-CT suites

Lead lining for 511 keV photons, with uptake and handling areas coordinated with the physicist.

X-ray and fluoroscopy rooms

Lead lining, shielded door, interlocks and warning signage.

Nuclear medicine rooms

Shielded rooms for departments handling radioactive materials.

Radiation therapy vaults

Heavily shielded rooms with specialist doors.

Built around the equipment manufacturer

We build from the OEM’s site-planning guide for the exact model and coordinate with its installation team, so the room is ready on the day the equipment arrives.

How we deliver

In-house crews and factory

Shielding, doors, services and surfaces are made and installed by our own people.

One contract, one programme

Interfaces between trades are drawn and owned by one contractor.

Tested handover

We support RF testing and radiation surveys and hand over complete records.

Live-hospital working

Phasing, dust control and infection-control measures for works beside operating departments.

Our process

  1. Read the specification

We start from the OEM site-planning guide for the exact model and the physicist’s shielding report.

  2. Coordinate and detail

Structure, shielding, doors and services are drawn together, with every penetration located before work starts.

  3. Build

Our own crews and factory deliver the shielding, doors, services and clinical surfaces.

  4. Test and hand over

We support RF and radiation testing, then hand the room to the OEM installation team, ready for the equipment.
